Note from Thomas: Recently (maybe because of the seven things article) a few people have written to me asking for a more in depth "personal profile" on my site.  I don't know how much information is safe to put out there in public, but I thought I could at least update what I had on the site already...

This page will continue to be updated.

HOBBIES and INTERESTS:

WRITING: Writing is harder than it used to be. I have many ideas for stories, plays, novels, what have you, and it isn't as easy to get these things down on paper as it once was.

KITES: These are wonderful as they give you a valid excuse to do nothing. Building kites is sometimes more fun than flying them. I like being creative in my building.

TRAVEL: This is a side effect of the advocacy. I had no idea when I started this that I would be traveling as much as I have. I have found that travel is a good education and it teaches you things you will not learn in a college classroom. There is something to be said for experience. I have met many nice people and also unfortunately a few I'd rather not have met.  I have been to all 50 states, except for Alaska, Vermont, and Wyoming.

ANIMATION: Everyone collects something, it seems. I collect animation. The harder it is to find, the more I go after it. I like the challenge. I search for the shows I used to wake up to when I was younger. No one shows them anymore on TV, except once in a rare while the Cartoon Network might give you a sample.  If anyone has any animation from the seventies, let me know.  Maybe we can arrange a trade.

MUSIC: I used to play a lot more than I do now. I still have the guitar and the banjo in the closet and I still take them out sometimes.  Every now and again I join the band onstage at the church and play a bit of harmonica.  But these days I prefer to be behind the scenes, running the sound board on Sunday morning during worship.

COMPUTERS: Somewhere in the back of my closet I have a CP/M Kaypro 4/84 (most of Soon Will Come the Light was written on it) and I do know enough about computers to maybe be just a bit dangerous.  One thing I do not like being thought of is as a geek.  UGH.  That's the last thing I want.

I delight in shutting down illegal web sites.  If I get an e-mail that is someone phishing for a bank account or eBay or Paypal password, I take steps to have that person shut down.  I have shut many such sites down, I suspect that I may have helped to put one or two people behind bars, and I know that I have gotten few people fired for using company sites for illegal e-mail scams.  Don't mess with me. You are messing with the wrong person when it comes to phishing e-mails.  I don't tolerate it.

BIBLE: When you said, "Seek My face," my heart said to you, Your face, LORD, I will seek." (Psalm 27:8 NKJV)
